From 1975 to 2024, according to the Federal Aviation Administration the number of U.S. residents exposed to significant1 levels of aircraft noise fell 94 percent, while enplanements rose 387 percent. From 2000 to 2024, noise exposures were reduced by 55 percent while enplanements rose 39 percent.
