Aircraft Noise Exposure in the U.S.

From 1975 to 2024, according to the Federal Aviation Administration the number of U.S. residents exposed to significant¹ levels of aircraft noise fell 94 percent, while enplanements rose 387 percent. From 2000 to 2024, noise exposures were reduced by 55 percent while enplanements rose 39 percent.
