Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

This Hispanic Heritage Month, Airlines for America’s members have shared their support for diversity, equality and inclusion, recognizing all those of Hispanic heritage who have made significant and lasting contributions to the aviation industry.
Throughout September and October, A4A’s member airlines have taken time to commemorate these stories and achievements:
Alaska Airlines
Alaska highlighted Customer Care Representative Miros, who loves helping customers with language barriers.

American Airlines
American Airlines featured Evita “Evie” Garces, who serves as AA’s Vice President of Line Maintenance. She is the first Hispanic woman in that role at AA.

Atlas Air
Atlas Air highlighted Mexican American Captain and Line Check pilot Federico “Freddy” Mendoza. Mendoza has been with Atlas for 11 years and credits his large family as his daily inspiration.

Delta Air Lines
Delta’s inflight entertainment service, Delta Studio, is featuring Hispanic movies and television shows in a special selection curated by actress and activist Eva Longoria.
Through her community outreach, actress and activist @EvaLongoria champions expanded opportunities for Latino voices in government, entrepreneurship and STEM.

JetBlue is offering yummy plantain chips Chifles as a free inflight snack. Chifles is a Hispanic-owned company and was sourced in collaboration with JetBlue’s Hispanic crewmembers.

UPS
UPS is celebrating Hispanic and Latinx-owned small businesses by releasing a bilingual limited-edition Express box featuring artwork by Latin American artist Eugenia Mello. In addition, the UPS Foundation has made a $2.9 million commitment to programs supporting Hispanic communities.
