TSA’s World Cup Security Playbook offers several resources that will help fans stay informed on the latest tips for a smooth trip.
Travelers can review their travel checklist to avoid packing prohibited items. TSA’s “What Can I Bring?” resource offers a comprehensive list including fan-favorite items and whether they may be carried on, checked or should stay home.
TSA is also hosting tips on mastering several U.S. airports nearest to World Cup matches, including helpful details about terminal layout and access as well as links to security wait times.
Specifically for travelers abroad, CBP has launched an interactive and secure virtual chatbot named COMPASS, which is designed to help arrivals prepare for entry into the U.S. Including English, COMPASS can also converse in 27 different languages and offers helpful details on required visas, passports and entry permits.

Travelers may see emerging technologies like Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) for identify verification, which allows agents to quickly verify a passenger’s identification against their travel itinerary in “near” real-time.
Passengers may also participate in optional TSA facial comparison, which securely confirms your identity against the photo on your travel ID. Photos are deleted after the passenger’s identity is verified and you may advise the officer that you do not want your photo taken.
From participating states, TSA now accepts Digital ID at more than 250 airports through options like Apple Wallet, Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet. For travelers, that can mean a faster identity check while keeping your physical identification secure.

Trusted Traveler Programs like TSA PreCheck and Global Entry can help you move through the airport faster. Additionally, these programs include accompanying apps, which help expedite the screening process.
TSA PreCheck Touchless ID can more than double checkpoint throughput by using automated identity verification, and Global Entry can speed up re-entry into the U.S. for preapproved, low-risk travelers.
If you plan to enroll, apply early and use the program’s app to track your status and watch for appointment openings before your trip.
