U.S. Airlines Respond to Catastrophic Central Texas Flooding

In the wake the catastrophic flooding in the Texas Hill Country, particularly Kerr County, U.S. passenger and cargo carriers are working to provide relief efforts. Their support encompasses donations, aid delivery and partnerships with relief organizations on the ground helping affected communities.

U.S. airlines are giving back by playing a vital role in the ongoing relief efforts and providing essential support for Central Texas flood victims. Here are some details on carrier responses and actions in the wake of this tragedy:

Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines CEO Bob Jordan announced the airline’s support for victims of the devastating flooding in Central Texas by partnering with Team Rubicon and the American Red Cross to support those affected. Additionally, Southwest, which is headquartered in Texas, is contributing to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to aid local nonprofit organizations and first responders.

“We’re committed to being there for our community—not just today, but in the weeks to come,” Jordan said. “In the face of hardship, we know the strength and spirit of Texans will shine through.”

American Airlines

American Airlines, which is also headquartered in Texas, is collaborating with relief partners including the Red Cross, Airlink and Team Rubicon.

The carrier pledged to assemble more than 2,000 care packages for first responders, National Guard and U.S. Coast Guard deployed to the flood zone.

American is encouraging customers to contribute, offering 10 AAdvantage miles for every dollar donated to the American Red Cross.

UPS

The UPS Foundation mobilized quickly to deliver urgently needed supplies to Central Texas, shipping over 1,000 food boxes and 24 pallets of essential items to flood-impacted communities. The effort reflects UPS’s commitment to crisis response and community care.

FedEx

FedEx activated its Delivering for Good program to transport aid efficiently across its network, And the company is encouraging customers to contribute through monetary donations, helping relief organizations meet urgent needs.

Atlas Air

Atlas Air announced a donation to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, matching employee contributions and honoring the work of first responders. The carrier also is encouraging public involvement to support those hit hardest by the disaster.

United Airlines is partnering with Airlink, Good360 and World Central Kitchen by donating 6 million MileagePlus miles. The airline is matching up to 6 million additional miles contributed by customers to help fund travel for responders and deliver aid, too.
