A4A Statement on FAA Extension

Airlines for America commends Congress for passing legislation which extends funding for federal agencies that are critical to the National Airspace System. We are especially grateful that the Continuing Resolution – which was passed with overwhelming support – extends the current FAA authorization through the end of the year, ensuring there is no lapse in the FAA’s operating authority and providing certainty for the agency’s workforce as well as the traveling and shipping public.

Today’s action also gives the Senate time to continue its work on the FAA Reauthorization bill. We remain confident that the House and Senate will agree on a new multi-year bipartisan reauthorization legislation this Congress.
