Airlines for America Applauds Homeland Committee Advancing Bipartisan Efforts to Modernize TSA for the Traveling Public

The following is attributable to Airlines for America (A4A) following the House Homeland Security Committee’s markup today:

Airlines for America is grateful to Chairman Garbarino and Ranking Member Thompson for their bipartisan commitment to modernize TSA and improve aviation security. Today’s markup reflects meaningful progress toward strengthening passenger and baggage screening capabilities, supporting innovative security and facilitation programs, expanding opportunities for public-private partnerships and improving the travel experience for families, service members and travelers across the country.

A4A welcomes the Committee’s action on the SAFEGUARDS Act, the Improving Travel for American Families Act, the Improving Travel for Military Members Act, the Reimbursable Screening Services Program Extension Act and the One-Stop Pilot Program Extension Act. Collectively, these bipartisan bills support long-term and overdue investments in aviation security, expand access to more streamlined and efficient screening options, extend successful pilot programs and ensure TSA has the tools and partnerships needed to meet record-breaking travel demand ahead of the 2028 Olympics.

We appreciate the Committee’s continued leadership and look forward to working with Congress and TSA to advance policies that enhance security, efficiency and the overall travel experience for the flying public.
