The U.S. aviation industry is a leader in the fight against climate change. A4A is supportive of California’s emissions goals which complement airlines’ nationwide sustainability efforts.

SAF can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%, sulfur oxide by nearly 100%, and cut particulate matter by half.

Expanding SAF will contribute to the green economy, create green jobs, and solidify California as a world leader in sustainable fuels and on climate issues.

Airlines Fly Green

Major airlines have already committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Contributing just 2% of the nation’s CO2 emissions, passenger and cargo carriers are continuously investing in more fuel-efficient aircraft and engines, developing sustainable aviation fuel, and implementing more efficient procedures both in-flight and on the ground.
