Flying Together, Made Easier

U.S. airlines prioritize families that fly — offering extra time for boarding and making every effort to accommodate family members traveling together. Before your next family vacation, make sure to check first with your carrier about how they can work to ease your family’s journey.

Each carrier has established individual policies, but all make every effort to ensure families sit together. For additional information, travelers are encouraged to read their individual carrier’s policies.

Keeping Children Safe When You Fly

The safety of our youngest passengers is a top priority for U.S. airlines. For parents flying with children under the age of two, A4A and our passenger carriers support the recommendation of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that strongly urges travelers to secure children under two in an approved child restraint system (CRS) for the entirety of a flight.

For more information about flying with CRS and installing a device when you are traveling, visit the FAA’s resource website, Flying with Children.

TSA’s Families on the Fly

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is also putting families first by prioritizing their security experience. At select airports, TSA offers dedicated travel lanes for families traveling with children 12 years of age and under at select airports.
