A4A Commends Confirmation of Michael Lawson as U.S. Ambassador to ICAO

​WASHINGTON, July 21, 2014 – Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, issued the following statement commending the Senate’s unanimous confirmation of Michael Lawson as the next U.S. Ambassador to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

“U.S. airlines operate in a dynamic global environment and it is critical that we have strong representation at ICAO,” said A4A President and CEO Nicholas E. Calio. “We congratulate Ambassador Lawson on his confirmation and look forward to working with him to strengthen our collaborative partnership with ICAO, while furthering our shared goals of developing international standards and best practices to enhance the overall global air transport network.”
