American Airlines SVP David Seymour and Boeing VP Mike Fleming Recognized for
Outstanding Service and Achievements at MRO Americas
WASHINGTON, April 15, 2015 – Airlines for America (A4A), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today presented the A4A Engineering, Maintenance, and Materiel Council (EMMC) 2015 Nuts and Bolts Award to David Seymour, Senior Vice President, Technical Operations at American Airlines, and Mike Fleming, Vice President of Fleet and 787 Services at Boeing Commercial Aviation Services. Presented at the annual MRO Americas conference, the Nuts and Bolts Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding service and achievements in the engineering or maintenance fields within the commercial aviation industry.
Seymour is responsible for all aspects of American’s technical operations, including line and base maintenance activities, and he oversees engineering, planning and production support of airframes, engines and components. Seymour was recognized for his continuous excellence in providing leadership for the airline industry by driving innovation in all phases of airline maintenance and engineering, providing strategic vision and teamwork within the groups under his direction, and for continuous improvement in operational reliability and safety at American Airlines.
Fleming is responsible for managing a broad range of Boeing products and services, including GoldCare managed services to support airlines, airplane upgrades and other maintenance services, and he was recognized for his 29 years of exemplary achievement in commercial aircraft manufacturing and airline customer support, particularly his innovation in establishing industry leading aircraft support programs for the Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft.
Each year since 1967, the A4A EMMC has presented the Nuts and Bolts Award to individuals who have made significant contributions over an extended period of time as airline employees or individuals from other segments of the industry.
