Amidst rising departures, safety has improved for U.S. airlines.

No deaths in 2007 accidents on scheduled US airlines

Recent government figures show that scheduled U.S. airlines flew 18.7 million hours in 2007 with 24 accidents, but no deaths.

The National Safety Council has announced Delta Air Lines as the 2008 Green Cross for Safety Medal recipient.

Continental Airlines Receives EPA Award

Air Transport Association and Aviation Industry Stakeholders Announce Runway Safety Awareness Day

ATA released an open letter to all commercial pilots from organizations representing more than 50 U.S. airlines and 70,000 pilots, and the Federal Aviation Administration, announcing that Feb. 12 is Runway Safety Awareness Day and committing to further bolster an already exceptional safety record.
