ERAM (En Route Automation Modernization)
ERAM will enable the FAA to increase capacity and improve efficiency in a way that cannot be realized with the current system, which is a mix of different technologies that evolved over the years and is extremely difficult to expand or upgrade. The ERAM architecture replaces the current aging system, and in addition, it adds capabilities needed to support the evolution of our National Airspace System (NAS). ERAM's state-of-the-art technology also improves information security and streamlines traffic flow at our international borders.
