ATA Comments on CDC Lifting of Mexico Travel Health Warning

STATEMENT

WASHINGTON, May 15, 2009 - The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today commented on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announcement that it is removing its 'travel health warning' that advised people to postpone nonessential travel to Mexico:

"ATA welcomes the announcement that the CDC is removing its travel health warning against nonessential travel to Mexico. Everyone should continue to use the common sense precautions provided by the CDC to protect their health and the health of others. Airlines continue to follow CDC recommendations and procedures, which include monitoring and reporting any case of communicable disease onboard aircraft."
