STATEMENT
WASHINGTON, April 7, 2008 – The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization representing the leading U.S. airlines, issued the following statement regarding the Wichita State 2008 Airline Quality Rating study and other airline ranking surveys:
“The Wichita State 2008 Airline Quality Rating is but one of several organizations that releases annual rankings of airlines based on varying criteria. ATA will not comment on this report or others like it, rather we will continue to work closely with airlines, airports, the Department of Transportation, Congress and other stakeholders to address delays – a key underlying factor in customer frustrations."
ATA airline members and their affiliates transport more than 90 percent of all U.S. airline passenger and cargo traffic. For additional information about the industry, visit www.airlines.org.
