ATA Congratulates Sen. Hutchison on Her Appointment As Ranking Member of the Aviation Subcommittee

STATEMENT

WASHINGTON, Dec. 5, 2007 – The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the trade association for the leading U.S. airlines, today issued the following statement congratulating Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) on her appointment to the position of ranking member of the Aviation Operations, Safety and Security Subcommittee of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee:  

“We heartily congratulate Sen. Hutchison on her appointment to this critically important position. She brings with her a wealth of aviation experience; a unique and deep appreciation for industry issues; a strong reputation as a savvy legislator; and the added clout of a continuing role in the Republican leadership of the Senate. We very much look forward to working with her as we tackle the many contentious issues that we face together.”
