Passenger taxes used to finance small airports used by corporate jets and private pilots
According to a review by the Associated Press, billions of dollars generated from taxes and fees paid by commercial airline passengers have gone to small airports used mainly by private pilots and corporate executives. The Air Transport Association maintains that the bulk of the taxes should go to airports that serve the general public.
