ATA Statement Thanking Congress for Passage of FAA Reauthorization Bill

STATEMENT

WASHINGTON, Nov. 21, 2003 – The Air Transport Association issued the following statement regarding the passage of the FAA reauthorization bill:

"The Air Transport Association of America, Inc. (ATA) today thanked members of Congress for passing the FAA reauthorization bill. The infrastructure investment this legislation provides is critical to the viability of U.S. commercial aviation and its employees, as well as the economies they support. It provides the means to pursue important safety and capacity projects at airports around the nation, and includes $500 million annually for security improvement projects."

ATA airline members transport more than 90 percent of all U.S. airline passenger and cargo traffic.
