OpEd: Aviation industry takes climate change seriously

The aviation industry is taking aggressive steps to respond to climate change, writes Brian Dubie, a commercial airline pilot and lieutenant governor of Vermont. He says aircraft fleets are 70% more efficient than they were 40 years ago and that aerospace firms continue to develop environmentally friendly aircraft and technology. Improvements to the nation's air traffic control system could reduce fuel consumption by up to 12%, Dubie says. Aviation Week & Space Technology (2/19)
